Contemporáneas es una Asociación Civil
declarada de Interés Cultural por la Ciudad de Buenos
Aires. Fue creada en 1994 por iniciativa de la directora y
coreógrafa Silvia Pritz.
“Somos artistas y creativos que, a través de
la producción, investigación, formación
e intercambio de proyectos, proponemos oportunidades que amplían
las perspectivas del arte contemporáneo en nuestro
país.
“Nos interesa formular interrogantes nuevos, además
de afirmarnos sobre una pluralidad de figuras y de temas,
y sobre una multiplicidad de puntos de vista.
“Mantener la continuidad y concreción de los
objetivos planteados es para ARMAR una elección
política.
“Elección política, porque significa
apoyarnos mucho más sobre los vínculos humanos,
la metodología artística, la intimidad de las
opiniones y la solidaridad de la red establecida, que en los
medios masivos o en la facilidad de la propaganda fugaz o
en el poder de quienes nos representan y deciden por nosotros.
“Los proyectos y emprendimientos artísticos
que desarrollamos en estos años están determinados
por el desafío de construir nuevas formas de pensar
y organizarnos.
“Y es también estímulo para nuestro crecimiento
la inquietud de asomarnos a la diversidad creativa y a la
experimentación cultural como un derecho, una responsabilidad
y una oportunidad de concebir nuestro futuro desde las Artes
Contemporáneas”

ARMAR Contemporary Performing
Arts is a civil association declared of cultural
interest by the Government City of Buenos Aires. It was created
in 1994 by the initiative of director and choreographer Silvia
Pritz.
“We are a group of artists and creative people that
through ARMAR proposes the production, investigation,
formation and interchange of contemporary arts in our country.
“We are interested in formulating new interrogatives,
questionings as well as strengthening ourselves in a plurality
of figures and subjects on a wide variety of points of view.
“Maintaining continuity and reaching these objectives
is, for ARMAR, a political choice.
“Political choice because it means basing ourselves
on human relationships, on artistic methodology, on the intimacy
of opinions, on the solidarity of the established net, more
than on mass media, on current communication and on the power
of those that represent us and decide for us.
“The projects and artistic endeavours that we have
developed during these years were determined as a challenge
to building new ways of thinking and of organizing ourselves.
“And it’s also stimulating to our growth, the
dynamics of creative diversity and cultural experimentation
as a right, a responsibility and an opportunity of conceiving
our future on the basis of the Contemporary Arts”
